Simulator Terms and Conditions

The aim for this course is to provide guidance and feedback in order to prepare for a simulator assessment. This assessment is required for successful recruitment into an airline pilot position.

The course is flexible and may also be used by an individual with a professional licence who wishes to hone their skills after being away from flying for a while.

Simulator coaching aims to assist the candidate(s) to operate the simulator in accordance with a typical airline’s SOP's. With the relevant training, coaching and refinement of their skill, this course will provide the candidate with the highest possible opportunity to secure their prospect of passing their "real" check. We can provide training on various types at various locations. The most typical is the B737 or A320, however please fill in the form to book, or contact us via email for information on the type you require.

Note: You do not need an offer of interview to utilise this course. You can keep your skills and knowledge current for the future at any time. In fact it is better to book a course early, as the blocks each month are taken quickly by airlines training their own pilots.

Structure

Split into 3 parts:

Pre Flight Brief lasting 30 minutes - You can discuss a particular profile, which you have received from an airline that is interviewing, or run with a generic one provided by your instructor. Explain to your instructor exactly what you want to work on and they will oblige.

Session - This can last between 1 and 4 hours. Please note that it is normal to book a 2-hour session to begin with. This is easier to book at short notice with the simulator training facility, as well as to find a relevant instructor and also provides enough time to go through a typical profile twice, as well as leave a few minutes to concentrate on any errors or points that you would like to practice again.

Debrief -  Your instructor will cover all aspects of the session and advise on areas to improve or concentrate on.  Dependent on timing, this may be done whilst you are in the simulator.

Instructors

Aviac shall, where possible, evaluate and match the content of the course to the requirements of the candidate. Here we shall match an instructor who is flying on the type requested and one who is current with SOP's with the airline that the candidate may have an interview with*.  All instructors are current line pilots who ‘know’ their aircraft well and will be able to answer any of your technical questions if required.

*Please note that this matching process shall depend upon the availability of the instructors.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Be a holder of a valid ICAO CPL or CPL/IR
A Valid Class 1 Medical

Other:

Security requirements for the access to the simulator are stringent and candidates must be in possession of a passport for identification. If you are booking an assessment practice you will also require a valid professional licence.
